Technical Service Representative, Roofing Products

Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. OMG’s Roofing Products division delivers products and services that improve contractor productivity and enhance roofing system performance. The Technical Service Representative maintains a professional and satisfied relationship with customers by providing rooftop support, equipment maintenance, product and service troubleshooting, education regarding the features and benefits of applications and tools. The Technical Service Representative demonstrates products to contractors on the rooftop, provides testing and measurement services to code officials, resolves issues related to product application and tool use, sells products related to maintaining equipment, and provides customer training. This is an outdoor position that requires extensive traveling to job sites. The Technical Service Representative achieves success using in-depth product knowledge, excellent communication and relationship building skills, good problem solving skills and strong time management.
Position Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG
- Understand and follow all job related safety policies and
- Complete job starts, pull tests, field measurements, product training and equipment service calls in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure customer satisfaction using good communication skills and timely follow
- Develop relationships with job foremen, mechanics and other key roles within targeted customer base.
- Create awareness of the full range of products available, and sell parts needed for equipment repair to targeted customer base.
- Communicate market information, job leads, upsell opportunities and technical issues to the Territory Manager.
- Support Sales, Marketing, and Technical teams as requested with data, customer details and issue resolution.
- Maintain adequate inventory in company vehicle including necessary stock, samples and literature.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, travel and expense reimbursement.

Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- Prior sales experience preferred (experience with construction products a plus).
- Ability to follow direction, prioritize assignments and meet
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate judgment regarding daily issues and
- Ability to read instructions and observe results from field tests, talk and hear, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, bend, push, pull, put pressure on material, drive long distances, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50
- Ability to access roofs, using ladders up to 60 feet in height, stairs and fall
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate the Company vehicle
- Must be able to operate a branded company vehicle (exceptions will not be made including those related to parkway restrictions and condominium, apartment complex or gated community by laws).
- Ability to travel extensively within the territory, including overnight
- Ability to prioritize work assignments, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Tool dexterity, mechanical skills and ability to demonstrate and repair tools and
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional
- PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (Excel).
- Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management

Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
